Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door!
Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door!
Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
“Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.
I am dreaded by my friends--they flee when they see me on the street. Psalm 31:11
My beloved and friends shun my disease, and my kinsmen stand at a distance. Psalm 38:11
It could be due to the current pandemic, or joblessness, or you just broke up with a relationship and feel that all is bare or worst of all, you lost someone dear...Whatever maybe the situation you find yourself in, dear friend, know that our Lord cares.
Trust Him. Yes, blindly trust His words. He knows your loss. He still cares.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3
The LORD is near to the brokenhearted; He saves the contrite in spirit. Psalm 34:18
For He wounds, but He also binds; He strikes, but His hands also heal. Job 5:18
These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God.
Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.
Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
Revelation 3:1-6
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him
For the help of His countenance. Psalm 42:5
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God. Psalm 42:11
Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent?
Who may live on your holy mountain?
- The one whose walk is blameless,
- who does what is righteous,
- who speaks the truth from their heart;
- whose tongue utters no slander,
- who does no wrong to a neighbor,
- and casts no slur on others;
- who despises a vile person
- but honors those who fear the Lord;
- who keeps an oath even when it hurts,
- and does not change their mind;
- who lends money to the poor without interest;
- who does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
Whoever does these things
will never be shaken.
~ Psalm 15
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a ringing gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have absolute faith so as to move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and exult in the surrender of my body, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs. Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love; but the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13
Who do you love? As per these specifics? I am pretty sure all of us fail short. But God loves us just like this - unconditionally. selfishly. abundantly. overflowingly.
Shall we cherish that today? <3
Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the Lord. “Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel!
Jeremiah 18:1-10
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. Psalm 143:10
Teach me your way, LORD; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors. Psalm 27:11
Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Psalm 25:5
Show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths. Psalm 25:4
Teach me your decrees. Psalm 119:26
Teach me your way, LORD, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. Psalm 86:11
Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I trust your commands. Psalm 119:66
Shall we make this our constant prayer too, like King David in his examples here?
Praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord from the heavens;
praise him in the heights above.
Praise him, all his angels;
praise him, all his heavenly hosts.
Praise him, sun and moon;
praise him, all you shining stars.
Praise him, you highest heavens
and you waters above the skies.
Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for at his command they were created,
and he established them for ever and ever—
he issued a decree that will never pass away.
Praise the Lord from the earth,
you great sea creatures and all ocean depths,
lightning and hail, snow and clouds,
stormy winds that do his bidding,
you mountains and all hills,
fruit trees and all cedars,
wild animals and all cattle,
small creatures and flying birds,
kings of the earth and all nations,
you princes and all rulers on earth,
young men and women,
old men and children.
Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for his name alone is exalted;
his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.
And he has raised up for his people a horn,
the praise of all his faithful servants,
of Israel, the people close to his heart.
Praise the Lord.
Therefore David blessed the Lord before all the assembly; and David said:
“Blessed are You, Lord God of Israel, our Father, forever and ever.
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness,
The power and the glory,
The victory and the majesty;
For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours;
Yours is the kingdom, O Lord,
And You are exalted as head over all.
Both riches and honor come from You,
And You reign over all.
In Your hand is power and might;
In Your hand it is to make great
And to give strength to all.
“Now therefore, our God,
We thank You
And praise Your glorious name.
But who am I, and who are my people,
That we should be able to offer so willingly as this?
For all things come from You,
And of Your own we have given You.
For we are aliens and pilgrims before You,
As were all our fathers;
Our days on earth are as a shadow,
And without hope.
“O Lord our God, all this abundance that we have prepared to build You a house for Your holy name is from Your hand, and is all Your own. I know also, my God, that You test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things; and now with joy I have seen Your people, who are present here to offer willingly to You. O Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the intent of the thoughts of the heart of Your people, and fix their heart toward You. And give my son Solomon a loyal heart to keep Your commandments and Your testimonies and Your statutes, to do all these things, and to build the temple for which I have made provision.”
Then David said to all the assembly, “Now bless the Lord your God.” So all the assembly blessed the Lord God of their fathers, and bowed their heads and prostrated themselves before the Lord and the king.
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
Galatians 5:16-26
Having read both lists above - the fruits of flesh vs. Sprit, which of the fruits do we have more of? Do we call ourselves Spirit filled yet yielding fruits of the flesh? That can't be... :(
I lift up my eyes to the hills.
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to slip;
your Protector will not slumber.
Behold, the Protector of Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is your keeper;
the LORD is the shade on your right hand.
The sun will not strike you by day,
The LORD will guard you from all evil;
The LORD will watch over your coming and going,
both now and forevermore.
“Yet even now,” declares the LORD, “return to Me with all your heart, with fasting, weeping, and mourning.”
So rend your hearts and not your garments, and return to the LORD your God. For He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion. And He relents from sending disaster.
Who knows? He may turn and relent and leave a blessing behind Him—grain and drink offerings for the LORD your God.…
Joel 2:112-14
Mercy is extended to us this morning; it is up to us how we react to it...
I love the Lord, because He has heard my voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.
The pains of death surrounded me, and the pangs of Sheol laid hold of me; I found trouble and sorrow.
Then I called upon the name of the Lord: “O Lord, I implore you, deliver my soul!”
Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yes, our God is merciful.
The Lord preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me.
Return to your rest, O my soul, for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.
For You have delivered my soul from death, My eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.
I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.
I believed, therefore I spoke, “I am greatly afflicted.” I said in my haste, “All men are liars.”
What shall I render to the Lord for all His benefits toward me?
I will pay my vows to the Lord now in the presence of all His people.
* Know that the Lord has set apart for Himself him who is godly; the Lord will hear when I call to Him.
* Be angry, and do not sin.
* Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still.
* Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.
There are many who say,
“Who will show us any good?”
* Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us.
* You have put gladness in my heart, more than in the season that their grain and wine increased.
* I will both lie down in peace, and sleep;
Psalm 4:3-8
Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the LORD, who has compassion on you. Isaiah 54:10
"Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! Isaiah 49:15"Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during the plowing season and harvest you must rest. Exodus 34:21
For six days work may be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, a day of sacred assembly. You must not do any work; wherever you live, it is a Sabbath to the LORD. Exodus 23:3
For six days you are to do your work, but on the seventh day you must cease, so that your ox and your donkey may rest and the son of your maidservant may be refreshed, as well as the foreign resident. Exodus 23:12
For six days work may be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must surely be put to death. Exodus 31:15
1Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
or set foot on the path of sinners,
or sit in the seat of mockers.
2But his delight is in the Law of the LORD,
and on His law he meditates day and night.
3He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
yielding its fruit in season,
whose leaf does not wither,
and who prospers in all he does.
4Not so the wicked!
For they are like chaff driven off by the wind.
5Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6For the LORD guards the path of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
