A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice. Isaiah 42:3

The reed here implies the weak and fragile among us who sway at the slightest wind. A bruised reed would therefore mean the person who has been greatly afflicted by the trials of life, yet not completely broken.

Same way, a smoldering wick has very little strength to stay alive. That's how severe the wind blows.

Today's message is for those who can relate to such a situation. One of my favorite Scripture verse, along those lines, is Isaiah 40:11

He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.  Isaiah 40:11

Amen! He is not harsh. He doesn't rush us. He is gentle. He handles us with care.

Please be comforted that our Lord carefully tends to you with much love and care. In faithfulness He will bring your justice. So hang in there...
