A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult. Proverbs 12:16
How many of us are wise based on the standard set forth here by today's Scripture? I feel ashamed to say I am not.
The fact of the matter is we can be gentle and polished outwardly - at work, in the church, with friends for example; but at home we could be way different, annoyed, irritated, frustrated, angry, over the simplest of insults.
Just realized this is foolish and sinful. What do we do then when situation calls for it - when the spouse is forever working, when the house is a total mess, when the chicken doesn't thaw on time??
Don't we show our annoyance at once? We thus make fools of our selves according to today's Scripture. We need to learn to overlook insults and not get annoyed by it. Then we will be considered prudent.
Very hard I am sure. But with His grace we can do it. Knowing these Scriptures help us mold our character.
A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control. Proverbs 29:11
