* All the trees of the field will know that I the LORD bring down the tall tree and make the low tree grow tall. I dry up the green tree and make the dry tree flourish. "'I the LORD have spoken, and I will do it.'" Ezekiel 17:24
* The lowly will be exalted and the exalted will be brought low. Ezekiel 21:26
* He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor. I Samuel 2:8
* But it is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another. Psalm 75:7
If you carefully read the verses above, you will understand they all talk about one message: It is God who lifts one up or brings one down.
None of us want to be brought down or made low. The trick is to avoid the trap. What is the trap that brings one low? Pride & arrogance. The Scripture clearly says, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." James 4:6. In Psalm 138:6 we read, "Though the LORD is on high, he looks upon the lowly, but the proud he knows from afar."
If we need His grace we need to get rid of pride and develop humility. Let's make it our daily prayer and conscious practice. Our Lord has spoken it; He will do it!
