What is meek?
It is an adjective used to describe a person ": having or showing a quiet and gentle nature : not wanting to fight or argue with other people".
Lowly, humble, modest, down-to-earth, unpretentious are some of the synonyms of meek while arrogant, egoistic, proud, high-and-mighty, haughty are few of the antonyms.
How is it that the meek inherit the land?
Because the favor of God is upon the meek. The Scripture clearly tells us, God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble. James 4:6
Further more we read:
Though the LORD is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly; though lofty, he sees them from afar. Psalm 138:6
Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor. Proverbs 29:23
What we must do to find God's favor?
Humble ourselves. The more we uplift Christ in our lives the less significant we will become in our own eyes. We will become lowly just while we give the Lord the highest honor.
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. James 4:10
