Here's an interesting passage from the First Book of Samuel Chapter 3:
We only "listen" to the part we want to hear and not to what is being spoken.
We take the promises without the conditions, demand forgiveness without repentance, want to be loved without commitments...
This can't help us mature in our Faith.
Today let us prepare our hearts to say "Speak Lord, I am listening"
Here's an interesting passage from the First Book of Samuel Chapter 3:
Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. So Eli told Samuel, “Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, ‘Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place. The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!”We as believers look forward to hearing the Lord speak to us. But when He actually does, are we listening?! It doesn't seem so - not always.
Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.”
We only "listen" to the part we want to hear and not to what is being spoken.
We take the promises without the conditions, demand forgiveness without repentance, want to be loved without commitments...
This can't help us mature in our Faith.
Today let us prepare our hearts to say "Speak Lord, I am listening"
