“Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom." Luke 12:32
Interesting how this little promise finds it's way in the same passage in which Jesus tells us not to worry about what to eat or drink or wear but to seek His kingdom, considering the birds and the lilies that are taken care of without much toil on their part. When we do that He assures everything else will be given also.
Immediately following is this promise: “Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom." It is as though He could sense us getting more anxious over His instructions.
He then teases us saying, "if you were to test me on this then - Sell your possessions, and give to the needy."
And goes on to explain,
"Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Luke 12:33
Our Father has desired to give us the kingdom! Period. The question is are we seeking His kingdom?
What do we treasure this morning?! I hope it is His Kingdom and nothing but the Kingdom. Amen!
God bless you all!
