He who gathers crops in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son. Proverbs 10:5
Just as how important it is to sow, it is equally important to reap. Every farmer looks forward to the reaping or the harvest, as harvest is when they get their reward for all the hard work. If someone is lazy during harvest season and doesn't go in and reap, the yield will get wasted by the birds and passerby.
Same way, when we sow the seeds of faith in people's hearts, our responsibility is not over with that. We water it regularly (pray for their salvation) to bring it to a saving knowledge of Christ. This is the "harvesting" most of us evangelical Christians forget about.
In Matthew 9:37-38 Jesus says, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
As God's own sons and daughters we have a huge harvest ahead of us. Let's get working; shall we?
