Matthew 14:13-21
Few things for our take away from these Scriptures this morning:
1. God's provision is tied to God's promise and plan.
God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8
2. God provides in response to our faith
3. God's provision is for God's glory
Seek His kingdom and His righteousness first, all these things (everything else you worry about) will be added unto you!
We know it all along; but the question is, are we willing to seek?
God bless you all, enjoy the Saturday!
Matthew 14:13-21
Context: John the Baptist has been killed. Jesus is grieving. Midst of it all, a multitude followed Him on foot from the cities. Jesus has compassion on them and feeds them with the 5 loves and 2 fish the disciples had brought over to Him. They even had twelve basketful of left overs!
The disciples would not have witnessed this miracle if they had not acted in faith, bringing the little they had, to Jesus. This is the only miracle that is recorded in all four Gospels. Once again here Jesus confirms His name as Jehovah Jireh!
Matthew 14:22-33
Jesus dismisses the disciples and goes up to a mountain to pray. When the disciples were already at a distance in the water, Jesus walks on the water at the 4th watch and calms the wind and the sea. Peter now experiences Jesus as the provider as long as his eyes were on Him.
