"If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!" Matthew 7:11
Isn't it true that when it comes to buying gifts for our children we only want the best, even if it is a little over our budget? We go above and beyond to get our kids the special something they have been asking for - right?!
We are human, sinful, limited in our capacity to love unconditionally. Yet we care nothing but the best for our children. Now think of the contrasting nature of God who is Holy, sinless, full of grace and mercy and loves us unconditionally. Would it be beyond His means to treat us to the best, when we ask for it? Definitely not!
Though it is in context with spiritual gifts this Scripture is about, I believe we can hang on to it for our regular needs too. It will be given; we only need to ask!
