No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark. And they were oblivious, until the flood came and swept them all away.

So will it be at the coming of the Son of Man.

Two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left.

Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day on which your Lord will come.

But understand this: If the homeowner had known in which watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.

For this reason, you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour you do not expect. Matthew 24:36-44

It seems surreal that we are indeed at the end of 2020. Let us praise God for all His providence throughout this year. Our bills were paid. We had food. We still breath. Praise the Lord.

Let us also remember, just like this, just as an year comes to a close, so will be our lives on this earth. Either Jesus would return or we would be gone. As today's scripture clearly explains let us get prepared for our journey, to meet the Lord our Jesus Christ.

Let us keep watch, because we do not know the day on which our Lord will come; shall we?

And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you:

God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.

If we say we have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar, and His word is not in us.

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our own eyes, which we have gazed upon and touched with our own hands—this is the Word of life.

And this is the life that was revealed; we have seen it and testified to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us.

We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us.

And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.

We write these things so that our joy may be complete. 1 John 1:1-4

John clearly affirms all things he is writing about Jesus is his firsthand eyewitness account.

If you think about it he wasn't gaining anything by proclaiming the good news of Jesus the Messiah. In fact he was killed for spreading the gospel. What do you think compelled him and many others to do that, if not the fact that it was the truth and they had witnessed it in person?

If you still doubt, I strongly suggest that you ask Jesus to reveal Himself to you and He will.

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

He who conceals his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them will find mercy. Proverbs 28:13

A simple solution to find mercy from God - by confessing our sins.

Confession is not a one time thing but a daily practice as we are all sinners. Knowingly or unknowingly we all commit several sins during a day. It is therefore important to be sensitive of the Holy Spirit’s prompting and be reconciled with God every single day.

Now that we are at the cusp of 2020 let us reassess ourselves and get right with God.

Here’s a simple confession prayer by King David, that can serve as our model:

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24

 1The LORD is my light and my salvation—

whom shall I fear?

The LORD is the stronghold of my life—

whom shall I dread?

2When the wicked came upon me to devour my flesh,

my enemies and foes stumbled and fell.

3Though an army encamps around me,

my heart will not fear;

though a war breaks out against me,

I will keep my trust.

4One thing I have asked of the LORD;

this is what I desire:

to dwell in the house of the LORD

all the days of my life,

to gaze on the beauty of the LORD

and seek Him in His temple.

5For in the day of trouble

He will hide me in His shelter;

He will conceal me under the cover of His tent;

He will set me high upon a rock.

6Then my head will be held high

above my enemies around me.

At His tabernacle I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy;

I will sing and make music to the LORD.

7Hear, O LORD, my voice when I call;

be merciful and answer me.

8My heart said, “Seek His face.”

Your face, O LORD, I will seek.

9Hide not Your face from me,

nor turn away Your servant in anger.

You have been my helper;

do not leave me or forsake me,

O God of my salvation.

10Though my father and mother forsake me,

the LORD will receive me.

11Teach me Your way, O LORD,

and lead me on a level path,

because of my oppressors.

12Do not hand me over to the will of my foes,

for false witnesses rise up against me,

breathing out violence.

13Still I am certain to see

the goodness of the LORD

in the land of the living.

14Wait patiently for the LORD;

be strong and courageous.

Wait patiently for the LORD!

 Dear fellow believers! I am so blessed to have coffee with Jesus with you all on a daily basis.

To tell you the truth, Jesus is an intimate friend who longs to have fellowship with us on a daily basis, even for a little while - as little as it takes to have a cup of coffee.

It is a wonderful privilege that we enjoy such a one on one time with Jesus, who is our own Lord & Savior; whose birth we celebrate today.

Please enjoy the festivities of the season! Love you all in Jesus Christ!

Be safe and take care! God bless you all!

As we get ready for Christmas let us refocus our attention to the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ - the fundamental of our faith; rather than just thinking of His birth.

Surely Jesus Christ is the sacrificial lamb that was killed for our sins so that we don’t have to die.

The wages of sin - any sin - is death! 😱 That means we would have to have died so many times to redeem ourselves which is impossible. In our place Jesus died! Once for all! And because He was sin less His blood redeemed us.

What’s for us to do? Just believe that!  And that’s all it takes for eternal life.

Would you? If so welcome to the family. Merry Christmas! ❤️

So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. Luke 2:16

After they had seen the Child, they spread the message they had received about Him. Luke 2:17

So, the shepherds heard about Jesus's birth from the angels. Immediately they went and saw the new born Jesus. Then they went about spreading the good news of Jesus.

Where are we in this three part series of our walk with Christ?

A. Have we only heard about Jesus?

Or

B. Have we actually seen and experienced Jesus but just that.

Or

C. Are we continuing to spread the Good News of Jesus?

We are called to:

Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Luke 28:19-20

Again the Lord spoke to Ahaz, “Ask the Lord your God for a sign, whether in the deepest depths or in the highest heights.”

But Ahaz said, “I will not ask; I will not put the Lord to the test.”

Then Isaiah said, “Hear now, you house of David! Is it not enough to try the patience of humans? Will you try the patience of my God also? Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
Isaiah 7:10-14

It's fulfillment:

After he had pondered these things, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to embrace Mary as your wife, for the One conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21She will give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.”

All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:

“Behold, the virgin will be with child
and will give birth to a son,
and they will call Him Immanuel”
(which means, “God with us”).

When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and embraced Mary as his wife. Matthew 1:20-24

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

James 1:2~12

So, what today's scripture reminds us folks, in a nutshell is that, keep going.

Persevere - meaning don't give up.

Let us not give up our hope in the Lord; our trust in the Lord; but keep going on and on and on... until of course the end of our lives.

Joshua also set up twelve stones in the middle of the Jordan, in the place where the priests who carried the ark of the covenant were standing. And the stones are there to this day. Joshua 4:9

Joshua recorded these things in the Book of the Law of God. Then he took a large stone and set it up there under the oak that was near the sanctuary of the LORD. Joshua 24:26

That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
