Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Psalm 37:3

Good works begin with putting our faith in the Lord!  That is the beginning of the journey which we had discussed a few days ago.

Deeds follow faith. It is not by mere words we show our faith; we enact our faith.

In the same psalm where today's Scripture is quoted from, as we continue to read, there are few instructions for us which are highlighted below:

Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.

Be still before the Lord
and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.

Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret—it leads only to evil.
For those who are evil will be destroyed,
but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.

Very simple and straight forward. For us to do good, we must become good. To become good we need to follow God's words. Scripture is full of instructions for us to follow. With God's help, we can do that.

As we put into practice the Word of God we learn, we will do good works, bearing much fruit.

Remember, good work is any and all the work we can do for the furtherance of the Kingdom of God! It is not for our own gratification. Good works ultimately bring glory to the Lord God Almighty!

Love you all in Christ Jesus. Have a blessed Thursday!
