* I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days. Joel 2:28-29

* On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. John 7:37-29

* “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an  egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”  Luke 11:11-13

Prophet Joel had testified of the Holy Spirit hundreds of years before Jesus's time. His prophesies about the infilling of Holy Spirit gets fulfilled in Acts chapter 2 that we discussed yesterday.

Today let's see what we must do to receive the gift of the anointing of the Holy Spirit:

1. Desire - A genuine thirst or desire or longing for the anointing of the Holy Spirit is the basis to receiving the gift.
2. Believe - Just as the Scriptures clearly explain, it is for all people, young and old, rich and poor, men and women! Absolutely no bar.
3. Ask - Ask God for the anointing.
4. Receive - Ask and you shall receive!
5. Live - a Spirit filled life.

In the coming days let us discuss each one of these items in detail...
