There is an interesting incident of Moses's arms lifted high mentioned in Exodus chapter 17; an excerpt below:
The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.”
So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword. Exodus 17:8-13
Today Jesus's hand is lifted high for us! Praise
the Lord! The same hands that were nailed to the cross, the same hands
that healed the blind, the same hands that blessed the food, the same
hands that raised the dead, the same hands that wipes our tears, the
same hands that provides for us, the same hands that fight our fights,
the same hands that prepares a place, the same hands that knocks at the
door, the same hands that is lifted high, the same hand doing mighty
things - for you and for me!
Amen! Let us worship the Lord lifting up our arms this morning! Let us enjoy His beautiful presence all day. God bless you!
