A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult. Proverbs 12:16

How many of us are wise based on the standard set forth here by today's Scripture? I feel ashamed to say I am not.

The fact of the matter is we can be gentle and polished outwardly - at work, in the church, with friends for example; but at home we could be way different, annoyed, irritated, frustrated, angry, whatever you want to call it.

Just realized this is foolish and sinful. What do we do then when situation calls for it - when the spouse is forever working, when the house is a total mess, when the chicken doesn't thaw on time?? The Scripture teaches us to overlook these insults to stay prudent.

Very hard I am sure. But we can all try. After all it's a new day and why not strive for something new today - prudence?!

A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control. Proverbs 29:11
