* When you are harvesting in your field and you overlook a sheaf, do not go back to get it. Leave it for the alien, the fatherless and the widow, so that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands. Deuteronomy 24:19
* Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the alien. I am the LORD your God. Leviticus 19:10
* When you beat the olives from your trees, do not go over the branches a second time. Leave what remains for the alien, the fatherless and the widow. Deuteronomy 24:20
He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done. Proverbs 19:17

So, how is our harvest going? Are we reaping to the very edges or leaving some leftovers for the poor among us? Are we spending everything we earn on us and ours, completely forgetting the poor and the needy, the widow and the orphans among us? Have any of them made it to our shopping list for Christmas?!

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 2 Corinthians 9:6
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. (Luke 6:38)
* He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God. Proverbs 14:31
* Cast your bread upon the waters, for after many days you will find it again. Ecclesiastes 11:1

I urge you to please not forget the poor among you this holiday season... Let us sow generously.
