Do not lie to each other... Colossians 3:9
Today's simple instruction to follow: Do not lie
A lie is an intentionally false statement.
Lie is the opposite of truth. I find it interesting that satan is mentioned in the scriptures as 'the father of lies' while on the contrast our Lord and savior Jesus Christ - He is the Truth. Praise the Lord.
Lying is a serious sin. In Revelation 21:8 where a series of deadly sins are mentioned that are doomed to be cast in the fire, it is said clearly that all liars will be consigned to the fire.
But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death. Revelation 21:8
It does not say some lies are acceptable or ignored. All liars will be cast out. Let us watch out take heed so that we are not counted among the liars.
But let [a]your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one. Matthew 5:37
Let us be doers of the word, and not hearers only. (James 1:22)
