And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. Matthew 6:28
Any of us not worry about what to wear? It seems like a great worry at times, is it not? Looks like it was true in Jesus's time also and hence this message. Instead of trying to elaborate it in my own words I thought we will read the rest of the passage as spoken by Jesus Himself. Here we go...
...They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:28-34
Jesus asks us a few questions to make us think and then finally He derives at His message. It is a great message to start a new month with - is it not?
Instead of worrying, let us seek His Kingdom first; then all these things (like food & clothing) will be taken care of by Him. Amen!

Let us meditate on the command...seek first his kingdom and his righteousness.....What does it mean? What are we supposed to do?
Seeking his righteousness means doing what Jesus has asked us to do. He says while taking baptism "it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness." Seeking his kingdom means entry into the kingdom, being loyal to the king, being a good soldier, and we can think of many other ways of seeking Gods kingdom.
