Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

We discussed yesterday how our concern is for our kids' spiritual well being and how we ought to pray for our kids on a daily basis.

There is still few other things we must do. #1 train up the child in the way he should go.

We need to learn and understand the Word of God on a daily basis so that we will know how to train up our children. I am sure we can hide behind the Word of God when we need to confront their actions. That way, they will know it is not our values we force on them, but it is what is expected of us according to the Scripture.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

Also, we must share our testimonies with them - how we got saved, how we got anointing of the Holy Spirit, when was the first time we got the assurance of being washed off our sins, how we pray, what paths God has led us through in the years past, how the Lord answered our prayers, how He was with us through our studies, what Scriptures have spoken to you, etc etc.

Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them. Deuteronomy 4:9

Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Deuteronomy 11:9

Above all, how is our walk? Do we walk our talk? Can they look up to us? How do we control our emotions? How do we treat our spouse? How devoted we are to personal prayer life? Do they see us reading the Bible?

Remember, our kids watch us more keenly that we would like to admit. We make a lasting impression in their memories. They are trained by what they observe. So, ultimately once again the responsibility falls on us parents.

With God's help we can do it! Those who believe it, say amen. Amen!

God bless you all. Have a blessed weekend.
