Today's reading: Proverbs 10 Click here to read online (NIV)

Verse of the day: "When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise." 10:19

If there is one thing that can not be erased off someone's memory that easily - it is the words! Worst yet, if we speak something in anger. It lingers on for a long time causing further drift in relationship.

In my experience, every time I have sinned with my words is - whenever I try to give "company" to someone who is complaining about another. We believe we are helping them vent; but if we look closer, we are making them sin more with our "encouraging" words.

Being always opinionated about everything is another fool proof way to fail with words. Disciple James reminds us in his book: "My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry" James 1:19

Let us strive towards this goal in our Christian walk.

Happy Tuesday!
