Pin It Now!
Yesterday we saw if God is for us, nobody can be against us. Well and good! Today, let us look at the other side: If the Lord had not been on our side... It is pretty scary even to imagine as it would mean just the opposite - that everybody will be against us.
Interestingly, King David had thought of it in those lines in Psalm 124:
Interestingly, King David had thought of it in those lines in Psalm 124:
If the Lord had not been on our side—
let Israel say—if the Lord had not been on our sidewhen men attacked us,when their anger flared against us,they would have swallowed us alive;the flood would have engulfed us,the torrent would have swept over us,the raging waterswould have swept us away.Praise be to the Lord, who has not let us be torn by their teeth. We have escaped like a birdout of the fowler’s snare;the snare has been broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
He ends it in a high note because of his assurance that the Lord had been with him. He sings: We have escaped like a bird out of the fowler’s snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
Let this be our assurance and our song too. Have a blessed day!
