The land you are entering to take over is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you planted your seed and irrigated it by foot as in a vegetable garden. But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end. Deuteronomy 11:10-12

If you recall, this was the promise verse we meditated on few days before entering into the new year 2011. I am so glad we are reminded of the same verse again by the Holy Ghost today, exactly around the midddle of the year so that we do not lose focus. So, how is it going so far? I hope and pray all is well.

Let us look at this passage closely. We see a contrast of "what it was before" and "what it is going to be"

Before when the Israelites were in Egypt, their produce was earned by hard labor. But in the future in their promised land God is promising them abundance with ease.

In plain and simple words if we were to apply it to us: Before we toiled for our living, hereafter it is going to be a breeze. Do you believe that? I do! Honestly. Why? Because the Word of God says so; as simple as that!

Verse 15 says: It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.

So, if the eyes of the Lord our God is continually on us from the beginning to the year 2011 to it's end, it clearly indicates his eyes are on us in the middle of the year as well, which is the present times. Is it not?!

Let us continue to hold on to His promises and praise His Holy Name!
