“The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign Lord,
“The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign Lord,
“when I will send a famine through the land—
not a famine of food or a thirst for water,
but a famine of hearing the words of the Lord.
People will stagger from sea to sea
and wander from north to east,
searching for the word of the Lord,
but they will not find it.
Amos 8:11-12
Walking through the streets of New York, I am sure in any big city, town or even villages, we come across many preachers of the Good News. Believers who do their part to proclaim the Gospel. Believers who give out tracks. Believers that read out the Bible - out in the public.
Churches are going above and beyond to connect to the un-church-ed, to reach out, to bring the Gospel to the streets if people are not going to come into the churches.
Internet is overflowing with the Word of God. Freedom of religion is at great show over the Internet. Everyone wanting to do something for the Lord, for the fellow believers, for the unsaved, willingly share.
Why not? Coffee with Jesus itself is a result of such a desire, an endeavor which focuses on connecting people from far of places around a virtual coffee table with our Loving Savior. It's a means to hang out with Him - out in the public, yet within our confinements and according to our convenience.
Surely there is an 'abundance of the Word of God' everywhere we look. Can't deny that.
However, as today's Scripture warns us, all these are surely coming to an end.
When the faithful are taken away in the rapture there will definitely be less people to write/share/preach/proclaim/pray/warn. Who knows, the so called "religious freedom" might be locked down by the then government. All leading to a famine for not food or drink but the Word of God. Alas!
Don't you worry; we will be gone. Aren't you glad?!
Happy Friday/Weekend everyone. Thank you for staying with Coffee with Jesus all week long. Stop by over the weekend too if you can.
God bless you all!
I am SOOOOO happy we will be gone! This is why we must love everyone God puts into our path and show Jesus to them. Great post!
