Happy May 2013!
I was looking up the words "the first day of the fifth month" in the Bible and was delighted to find a few significant events that occurred in history on this day:
1. Ezra arrived in Jerusalem on the first day of the fifth month. He had left Babylon on the first day of the first month. (Ezra 7:8)
2. Aaron died on the first day of the fifth month on the 40th year since leaving Egypt. (Numbers 33:38)
Of course all of us have passed thru' several 'first days of the fifth months' in our lives! Most likely we do not even recall what it was like last year this time or the years before.
However, we can all truly be grateful for God's providence for us thru' the years past; which only leads to the conclusion that He will prove Himself true for the rest of the years ahead!
For those of you who are somewhat weary this morning, let me share a promise from the Lord:
Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear. Isaiah 59:1
Amen! Praise the Lord!
Let us repeat it to ourselves: "Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear".
I didn't quite "hear" all of you saying it; can we try once more please?
"Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear". Amen!
Now keep telling that to yourself anytime doubts attack you this month. Anytime you are on the verge of giving up, keep reminding yourself of the 'things of past' and continue to trust Him for the 'things of future'.
May God bless you all abundantly! Happy May 2013!
