Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them." Psalm 126:2

Some of us take our faith a little too seriously that we even forget to smile at times let alone laugh. We walk around with a stern face, frowns and complaints that it is hard for people to notice even a trace of joy in us.

Joy of course is an internal virtue but will surely manifest externally. When our hearts are filled with JOY, our mouths will be filled with laughter and our tongues with songs of joy. People can immediately take note of our joy and will see that we don't panic like the rest of the crowd. They will wonder for sure if not already know that our Lord has done great things for us.

Now, let me ask you something. When was the last time you actually laughed? No, not the quick superficial one to keep company, but the hearty, cheerful kind? Has it been long since you last sang or danced in sheer joy? Without any reserve or caution, forgetting everything and just giving thanks to God - kind of Joy? Can it be said of us by onlookers that our Lord has done mighty things for us?

Let us take a stand today! Please repeat this after me: "The Lord has done mighty things for me; Therefore my mouth is filled with laughter and my tongue with songs of joy!"
