His delight is not in the strength of the horse, nor his pleasure in the legs of a man, but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love. Psalms 147:10-11

God always looks at our hearts and not our appearances. Just the opposite of what we humans do. We go by the appearances and know little about their heart.

But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or height, for I have rejected him; the LORD does not see as man does. For man sees the outward appearance, but the LORD sees the heart." I Samuel 16:7

So, if it is true that God looks at our hearts rather than our appearances, don't we need to take a toll of how our heart looks this morning? Is it ready and presentable to the eyes of our Lord? Is there any junk tucked away in in? Is there any sin lurking in it? Is it clean?

If not, let us work on it earnestly. Let us pray like King David prayed:

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.Psalm 51:10
