It is my understanding that Self Control also means Contentment. Being content with what we have, not always looking for the bigger and better, thanking the Lord for his daily providence from the depth of our hearts is all part of Self Control.
Not thinking too high of ourself, Not demanding we deserve the latest and greatest, being considerative of others, following the role model of Jesus Christ, etc. can help us achieve this fruit.
