Pin It Now! Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people? Jeremiah 8:22

I have been thinking of the Balm of Gilead lately and wondering how it applies to our lives. This is open for discussion today. If you have any thoughts please share in the comments section below.

It's going to be a lovely day! Have a Godly weekend!

In distress and distraught we also say," no balm....no physician....no healing.....", but it’s our wickedness and sins that bring pain to us and also to others, Psalm 32:3,5 says,When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away and I groaned all day long..... Finally, I confessed all my sins to you... and you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. Luke 5:31 says, Healthy people don’t need a doctor- sick people do. So if we are sick due to our sins, visit our Physician- Jesus Christ, who is ready all time to heal us by means of His (Christ’s) blood on the cross. And finally happy are those who obey god they are healthy and they are God’s own children.

That's a wonderful explanation Reena! I praise God for that.

I have used "Our Balm of Gilead" to refer to Jesus in my prayers, but wasn't quiet sure how it applies.

You have said it beautifully. Thank you for sharing. Much love to you all. Hope all is well at your end.

In Proverbs we read, "A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. " I guess this too is related to Balm of Gilead as both are termed as medicine...
